A US Army Air Force pilot's shirt, issued to Chester V Falkowski of Connecticut when he was enrolled as a trainee pilot at Curtis Field, Texas circa 1943. He flew more than 100 missions supplying Chinese troops fighting the Japanese. He flew in unarmed transport planes, often flying at treetop level and landing on grass strips, for which he was awarded the Distinguished Flyng Cross. The shirt is beautifully made, with great neck tab detail and its original USAAF sleeve patch. It's in a wool/gabardine material and is in excellent condition.
