1960s Chicago Fire Department firefighters coat , size large
A remarkable piece of kit with two detachable linings, metal hook and press stud fastenings, storm collar and rear stencil. Super tough, incredibly well made and very stylish, not to mention rare. Made by Able and used by a member of the Chicago Fire Department in the late 1960s. Both linings, a wool blend and a coated linen/cotton fit inside each other and button into the sleeve, which also has a knitted inner cuff. It's in very good condition for its age, obviously it's been worn a lot and has signs of age and wear, including a couple of small holes/areas where the canvas outer has worn thin. A really wonderful garment. Fits large for ease of movement and bear in mind it is very thick when checking measurements.
