Stunning 1950s British women's shooting jacket, modified and owned by champion markswoman
An extraordinary jacket, originally a reversible walking or cycling jacket made in England by Adastra, an early manufacturer of flying clothes. It's been adapted with shoulder and arm pads and patches to steady a gun, in this case a small bore rifle. The rear of the jacket features a number of patches and medals won by the owner, a Miss Sibley, in the 1950s and 60s, including expert marksman patches and several county championships. There are excellent brass Aero zippers throughout, all working. The jacket is well worn and quite grubby at the collar. There are also a couple of extra medals and a patch to go with the jacket.
Size wise it measures 19.5" pit to pit, shoulders 17" and sleeves 24.5".
